We have three favorites, which we describe here.
This is probably the most
common myth of all. Mailing a
description of the innovation to
yourself provides ABSOLUTLEY
NO PROTECTION.
Mail it To Yourself
Provisonal Yourself
While it is possible to write your
own provisional application, it is
not very wise to do so.  A patent
application is a legal document
and must adhere to strict rules.

Ideas are not patentable. You
must teach someone in that
field how to make and use your
innovation.  If you can not do
that you can not get a patent.
